Question / Help Alt-tab pause my stream

Hi every one.

I just recently get OBS Studio (was on the classic OBS before).

Everything is working well eccept one thing !

Every time i use alt-tab to get back to another window while streaming, OBS pause the video of all the window's scene who aren't top screen.
I didn't manage to find a solution into the settings or internet...

And it's a real issue cause every time i need switch window (to answer by writting to someone on twitch for exemple) even if it's only a second screen window the video pause.

I use to alt-tab during non playable part of games (like cinematics or generics or anything like that).
You'll understand the problem here.
Cause if i go to alt tab or switch window people will miss the cutscene or anything that is in the game (cause OBS pause but the game still going through...) and if i wanna let the cutscene go then i can't go and answer to people.

Are you running the Game in Fullscreen by any Chance?

Yep.

But i didn't have this prob on normal OBS (the preview was stopped but video in the stream didn't stop).

Is there any solution ?

That happened in OBS classic too when you did alt-tab while in a fullscreen game being captured by game capture.

Yep. This happens because the OS stops rendering the game while you're alt-tabbed out. Same with minimizing windows. You'd need to run the game fullscreen windowed mode for this to work, and not minimize it.

Didn't happened to me before with classic OBS before.

Will there be some solution for this in the futur ?

And so now if play in full screen windowed and alt-tab for some other window without minimizing the game's window will it work ?

No, this occurs at the OS level. There is no solution, because the OS stops rendering the window. There's nothing OBS can do to force it to continue doing so.

Yep, just play Fullscreen Windowed, and don't minimize the window when you alt-tab out. :)
