Question / Help Dual PC setup tearing

Hi guys been reading for a bit but haven't found anything similar to what I am experiencing. My friends and I stream fighting games using 2 computers from different consoles and arcade hardware. We have one computer be the video switch this PC has a i7 3770K @4.3GHZ 4*2GB DDR3 1866, Windows 7 64 bit on a 128gb ssd, and a Radeon 265 2gb gdr5. As far as capture cards I have a C027 aver media, magewell dual dvi pro, aja kona 3g-ro, and a datapath rgb pro. The second PC is the one that is for streaming i7 4930K @4.3, 4*2GB DDR 3 2400, same graphics card as the prior machine, and a datapath E1S capture card. Sorry for all the info but I know that you guys need details in order to help. Now we have the first machine grab the video from whatever console we are running at the time then use a dvi to dvi cable we extend the display to the streamer's datapath card. Each machine has an identical acer monitor running at 60Hz. We use the projector feature to project the video on to the second machine with the datapath card. Problem is the stream tears on the viewers side of things. We did such a setup just to be able to stream @ 1280*768 @ medium quality. Works great as far as saving resources is concerned but we can't seem to get rid if the tearing. Any help would be appreciated. I don't see where the tearing comes in considering I am not running 2 different displays at different refresh rates, like most people with this issue I've read have.

I have to ask... why not just put the capture cards in the streaming system, and capture the consoles directly from there? Projector mode isn't meant for this kind of use, and doesn't (as far as I know) provide VSYNC capability, which is going to be needed to avoid tearing on the second machine's capture card, which will just capture whatever signal it's receiving (and so the tearing, if vsync isn't on).

Investing in a video crossbar/matrix switch could be a good idea, and would simplify the frankly jury-rigged state of the current setup.

The reason we do a two PC setup cause it lets us do multiple sources like 2 Xbox 360s, a Naomi 2 arcade board, web cams for players and a camcorder. At the same time being able to stream 720 60 at medium. I will try vsync thanks.

Thanks for the help, think we got it working with Vsync and triple buffering from the switch to the streamer, also locked the streamer at 60fps. Thanks.

What solved it for me was enabling Aero on both the switching computer and on the streaming computer. Seems like the Aero theme has built in vsync and triple buffering that is gone when you completely disable the Aero theme. I am glad to have solved it, yet it sucks cause enabling aero you take a big performance hit.
