OBS randomly stops capturing

So this is the scenario. Sit down at my computer, start obs and start my emulator front end and start a game. Everything is working fine, obs is capturing the front end and then the game.

Turn off game, close front end, close obs. Wait a min or two, restart obs. It’s working, capturing my desktop (I’m using display capture btw), but soon as I start my front end, it goes black. Start a game, it stays black. Close game and close front end, and soon as I return to the desktop, it captures the desktop.

Any ideas? I’ve check stuff like making sure my power setting is on high performance. And I’m running obs as admin.

Ended up fixing it by using Game capture. One of the game would change the resolution and throw OBS into not working. Display and window capture both had the issue. Game capture fixed it.
