So dont do that. Theres nothing we can do to prevent the behavior. You could submit an issue to spotify if you really need that option disabled for some reason, it seems like a bug because it also breaks the windows media panel (win-A hotkey) so they might fix it.

Good thing is I don't really need that option. I just happened to disable it accidentally and spent some time thinking the plugin was broken. Figured I would save someone some time if they did the same.

Sorry, for the same reason as above, im not really interested in adding any more options that require additional settings because the settings screen is already very clogged. Maybe at some point, but this is already 10x more configurable than anything that was previously available besides maybe tuna. Every additional setting is a big increase in maintenance overhead as well, because of the 15 different supported translations and mutually exclusive settings.

As far as controlling how fast the card fades when there is no music, i will not change that, as when there is no music playing it is the only time we can ever have the opportunity to show the plugin attribution (assuming the user has not disabled it).

I will also not change the music source to be user configurable as there is really no good reason for most people to ever want to do that, and it will lead to way, way, way, way more user support issues where the answer is always "Have you selected the proper music source?". Priority ranking of sources is the best solution with the least amount of potential for frustration.

Update 2.3 has been released on github, this update allows you to customize the source lists, so you can add new sources or rearrange the priority of existing sources, or even remove sources, without having to recompile the plugin.

Release 2.3

Release 2.3 is now available on github, there are 2 main features since the 2.0 release:
  • Ability to use web browsers as a media source (toggleable, disabled by default)
  • Ability to customize the source lists
There is also a potential crash bug fix as well as general code optimizations.

It is recommended that all users update to the latest version if you havent already, if only just for the potential crash fix.
